The kidnapping of five British hostages in Baghdad has brought back chilling memories of tragic Ken Bigley who was kidnapped in Iraq in 2004 and then beheaded. His widow Sombat Bigley still prays for her murdered husband Ken at a shrine she has created for him in the home they had planned to spend their life. When the British hostage was murdered by al Qaida in Iraq and a video of his beaheading posted on to the interenet she was thrust into the media spotlight. Today she is alone with her memories. Shaun Tate is dead but not buried.


Last month Newsmonster told the harrowing story of tragic Shaun Tate who has still not been buried almost a year after his death. His mother Janet Garrod, 57 (pictured), is locked in a bitter war of words with Shaun's former girlfriend Ruby Whitney over where he should be finally laid to rest. In the meantime Shaun's body remains on ice in a mortuary. “My son deserves a decent burial so that he can rest in peace,” says Janet who told Newsmonster her heatbreaking story.

 In a word “Amazing”. There’s no other way of describing these Denon earphones. They produce wonderful sound, are built to last and look pretty cool too.

Newsmonster tested these earphones over a couple of months so that we could pick up on those niggling little faults that only show up after a lot of heavy use. These earphones are one of the few things we’ve tested which didn’t seem to have any faults at all. We dropped them too often, trod on them and used them in the pouring rain. Nothing seemed to phaze ‘em. They’re as tough as old boots (probably because they’re made of chunks of machined aluminium) and sound wonderful too.
